Many of us spend our lives searching for our purpose, wondering what we were put on this earth to do. We seek meaning in our careers, relationships, and hobbies, hoping that one day we will stumble upon the answer. However, the answer is not something we can find on our own. It can be found in the word of God, which instructs us that God has a plan and purpose for each of us.

In John 3, we see an example of this. John the Baptist was a man who knew his purpose. God sent him to prepare the way for Jesus and glorify Him. John's disciples were jealous of Jesus and his growing popularity, but John knew that his role was to decrease so that Jesus could increase. He understood that his purpose was not to be the main attraction but to point others toward Christ.
